Receptionist
I chose to work at Beacon VetCare because they are a family run veterinary practice, very caring and loving towards staff and clients.
I think pet owners should choose Beacon for the happy, friendly experience they will receive when they come through the door. We work in a team who all share the same goals and values is very rewarding.
Debbie is one of our amazing receptionists. Here's a bit more about her...
- Life before veterinary: Debbie grew up in Bath, Somerset, and worked in retail for 30 years, before moving into the veterinary field, where she has worked for many years since
- Best parts of the job: Meeting the clients and getting to know their pets on a first name basis, and making them feel welcome and comfortable. Also learning so much from years of working in the veterinary world
- Pets: A Staffordshire bull terrier cross, named "Fury", who is an adorable but cheeky puppy! He keeps Debbie and husband Mark on their toes!
Debbie and Mark previously had a staffy cross called "Chance" who was on 12 tablets per day (possibly a record number?!). But Chance never let that bother him, and was the happiest, most pampered chap
- Family: Debbie has a son and a daughter, plus grandchildren Maizy and Oscar
- Hobbies: Debbie loves gardening, walking the dog, fancy dress parties and going for rides on her husband's Harley Davidson
